Camera Calibration

"The company Fugro needed a timestamp calibration system for the cameras in Remote Operated Vehicles. The assignment was to create a calibration device which could indicate when the photo was taken and how long the shutter was opened. The information is extracted from a photo of the calibration device. Once the photo has been taken, the information is automatically extracted via image processing. Finally, a correct timestamp is given to the image. This case study involved: analog hardware design, microcontoller programming and image processing. It is a clear example of the range of possible tasks that Electrical Engineers can perform."
