Shooting, roadtrip and hotel trouble - 14/05/2016
After the cantus last night, everybody was up relatively early for the roadtrip to San Luis Obispo. After picking up Gijs from his motel, we spread out to get some breakfast. After we enjoyed pancakes, pizzas, bread or something else, the good news came that we would go to a shooting range today. Small groups could fire rounds with any weapon they liked for 1 hour, which was an exiting opportunity for all of us. We started with a Glock 17, but it didn't take long before the big guns came to the range.
After firing, amongst others, an M1 SOCOM, IWI Tavor and an AR 15 assault rifle, the "hand cannon" Smith & Wesson 500 was used to end the hour with a bang. While waiting for their turn, some people visited the famous Walmart shop, while Luuk got his stitches removed. At the end
of the day, our roadtrip of 2 hours still had to begin, but we definitively had tons of fun shooting.
The roadtrip brought us through Los Padres National Forest, which was definitively a beautifull sighting. After dining with Hawaiian live music, the Bobmobile in which I traveled was the first to arrive at our hotel. At least, we thought it was our hotel. Unfortunately, the rooms were booked for the wrong date, and a search for a place to stay began. With the friendly help of the receptionists and some distributed searching, a new place to stay was found not far from the original motel and we could end the day with a well deserved drink.
